Teachers from each building run a program called Dress for a Cause. Although each building runs the program a little differently, the basic idea is that teachers donate money each month for various charities within the community by paying to dress a certain way.
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute hosted a dress down day on March 31st to raise awareness about colorectal cancer. Roslund Elementary school staff members purchased t-shirts or pins, raising over $300 for C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Institute to raise awareness about colorectal cancer risk factors and the importance of screening.
