The Tunkhannock Tree Association and the newly Formed
Shade Tree Commission are working together to benefit our community
Tunkhannock Tree
Association and The Shade Tree Commission are applying for a NEPA
Urban and Community Forestry Grant for 2005 -2006 for risk
assessment of hazard trees and replanting of bare root trees.
The Tunkhannock Tree Association accepts donations for Tree planting
and Maintenance. You may purchase a memorial tree to be
planted in the Borough. We are currently working on a system
to number our memorial trees. |

A Countryside Conservancy
Stewardship Award 2005 was given to 'The Tunkhannock
Tree Association’ for thirty-five years of land
conservation, cultural values and bringing pleasure to
the public. All of our members attended the
Countryside Conservancy's Annual meeting on April 20,
2005 to receive this certificate of recognition.
Maintenance:
pruning- to shape and remove broken or diseased
limbs
mulching- to protect young trees from damage and
to conserve moisture around the roots until they are
established
planting- diversity to improve our urban forest |
