The Tunkhannock Tree Association and the newly Formed Shade Tree Commission are working together to benefit our community

Tunkhannock Tree Association and The Shade Tree Commission are applying for a NEPA Urban and Community Forestry Grant for 2005 -2006 for risk assessment of hazard trees and replanting of bare root trees.

The Tunkhannock Tree Association accepts donations for Tree planting and Maintenance.  You may purchase a memorial tree to be planted in the Borough.  We are currently working on a system to number our memorial trees.

A Countryside Conservancy Stewardship Award 2005 was given to 'The Tunkhannock Tree Association’ for thirty-five years of land conservation, cultural values and bringing pleasure to the public.  All of our members attended the Countryside Conservancy's Annual meeting on April 20, 2005 to receive this certificate of recognition.

Maintenance:
pruning- to shape and remove broken or diseased limbs
mulching- to protect young trees from damage and to conserve moisture around the roots until they are established
planting- diversity to improve our urban forest
