**Senior resident hunting and
furtaker (annual and
lifetime) licenses are available to those who will be 65 years old by Dec. 31 of the
current license year. Applications are available from PGC offices.
***Muzzleloader firearms and bows and arrows may be used
during the regular hunting season without purchasing muzzleloader or archery licenses.

Antlerless Deer License

Antlerless License: Available in any county with unsold antlerless licenses
beginning
Monday, Aug. 24. Holders of a valid muzzleloader license may apply for a
surplus license
beginning Monday, Aug. l7.
Limitations:
A muzzleloader license holder may apply for only one surplus license.
There is no
limit to the number of surplus antlerless licenses any hunter may receive in
Special
Regulations Area counties.
An
Antlerless Deer License is valid only in the county of issuance. The
use or
attempted use of an antlerless license in another county is a violation of the law.
Checks or
Money Orders for antlerless licenses must be made payable to "County
Treasurer", except in Philadelphia and Potter counties. Application must be
mailed in an official envelope available from license-issuing agents.
All antlerless license applications must be made through the U.S. Mail, using an official antlerless deer
license envelope. In Special Regulation Area counties, over-the-counter applications
will be accepted beginning Monday, Aug. 24. In all other counties, on Monday, Nov.
2.
Validity
of Licenses: Only one hunting or furtaker license shall be valid
during any license year. Any replacement license, or purchase of a second or
subsequent license, shall immediately invalidate any license of the same kind that had
been previously issued.
Armed
Services Personnel: (Guaranteed Licenses) - Regardless of
allocations
set by the Commission, certain special licenses are guaranteed to resident Pennsylvania
military personnel serving on active duty in the Armed Forces or the United States Coast
Guard. These licenses include muzzleloader, bear, archery, migratory game bird and
antlerless deer, but not surplus tags. Muzzleloader, archery, migratory game bird
and bear licenses are available from any issuing agent; and antlerless deer licenses only
from county treasurers at current fees.
