Reiki (RAY-KEY) is actually two words

The Reiki healing system is a form of *healing by means of the laying on of hands.
The healer will, over the period of 45 to 60 minutes, move through a series of around 20 hand positions on the person and dwell for a few minutes in each one. During this period, Reiki energy will be transferred through the healer to the person.

Reiki treatments are very convenient for the client. There is no need to remove
any clothing and treatments can be given either sitting up in a chair, or preferably lying down.  A Reiki treatment is very pleasurable and is accompanied by feelings
of deep relaxation and well being. Often one feels a sensation of warmth flowing
into their body leading to a completely relaxing state.

  • Reiki is not a religion

  • You are not required to have any specific belief system,
other than to be willing and open to receive the energy

  • Reiki restores balance,  clears the energy openings,
and gets the life force flowing again

Reiki is a gift of the universe.
"As you grow with Reiki you will contribute healing
and harmony to yourself and the world."
Honervogt, 1998

Who is qualified to perform Reiki?

Traditional Reiki practitioners are trained under the direction of a
Traditional Reiki Master.  Being a Reiki Master myself, I  use the same
methods  initiated by Mikao Usui himself.  This type of Reiki is often
called Usui Reiki.
Can Reiki cure disease?

Reiki is not intended to be a cure.  It does however improve the body's
natural ability to heal itself.  It should be reinforced that Reiki is not intended
to replace your physician or other health care providers.
*What is meant by "healing"?

Healing refers to the balancing of the energy, sometimes called chi
or prana, in the body to heal itself.

"The Doctor of the future will give no medicine,
but will interest his patient in the care of the (human) frame,
in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease."

Thomas A. Edison

Color Healing

Referred to as Color Therapy, Light Therapy, Chromatherapy and Colorology, this is the use of colors to change a persons mental health by means of colored rooms, light bulbs, crystals, fabrics, etc. This type of belief has existed in many of the oldest forms of beliefs in the East but it was not until the late 1800's that the West took a large interest in the theory of colors. Fundamentally it is based upon the theory that all light is a frequency therefore each color has a frequency of its own. As science tells us that energy cannot be destroyed merely re-distributed then each frequency has an effect on each person. During the 1970's-1980's scientific tests have shown some sort of connection between health and colors, in fact color consultants and even some psychologists use colors to instigate positive results from patients that are or feel ill. Color experts inform us that no one room should be one color but have a variety of colors and therefore frequencies. This sort of practice is also linked with sound therapy, the concept of frequencies, this time for the ears.
