The Beginning of a
never-ending project
Drilling has been taking place in
Dimock, PA since 2007. Dimock is only 13 miles away from Tunkhannock.
On March 16, 2011 Chief
Oil & Gas, LLC received Tunkhannock's first permit to drill for
Marcellus Shale Gas. In response,
I launched this site to post information and articles as they
become public domain -- relevant things I find interesting
enough to share. If
you're looking for sensationalistic reporting, you might want to look elsewhere...
After following this issue for some
time, I've become more adept in an area I previously knew nothing about, and am
getting a better understanding of the
Oil and Gas industry. An industry which
has become an exciting endeavor. This area needed an economic jump- start, and
Shale Gas appears to have provided just that!
I
am pro-drilling, and even wish I had a channel to get into the industry. I know
I would be welcome there. Drilling is
nothing new, but as always, remains a very
serious undertaking, with potentially serious repercussions. But these are
manageable.
Think
about it: With the whole country and most of the world in austerity mode, this
region is setting the stage for
billions of dollars in growth. A growth which
can shape our collective future.CP
